Top End Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Electrical (RACE) was founded in May 2005 when the Directors Matthew Kelly and Andrew Armstrong, identified an opportunity in the market for reliable, efficient, and professional air conditioning and electrical services. RACE was the product of their vision to deliver outstanding electrical and mechanical (HVAC) services.

Andy had worked in the Northern Territory for several years prior to being joined by Matt and starting RACE. The Directors extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of the local business environment of the Northern Territory laid the strong foundation for RACE and has been the key to their success. They started the business from a small workshop in Berrimah, Northern Territory, with a small team of 10 staff, and in the past 15 years, RACE has grown from strength to strength and currently employs over 50 permanent Darwin based employees.

As time has gone on RACE have been drawn further into more technical projects due to advances in Traffic Monitoring Systems, Monitoring of Public Places by CCTV, Environmental Monitoring, Smart Parking as well as numerous other energy, communication, and data projects. As a result of this early in 2020 Matt and Andy saw a need to provide high level technology services to its clients. TRACE TECHNOLOGIES (TRACE) provides complete integration capabilities, with highly skilled staff in Networking, Fibre, Data, Security, CCTV, wireless and Fire. This, in combination with RACE capabilities provides complete turnkey solutions for projects and maintenance works.

RACE is a true Northern Territory business, committed to creating local employment and developing local capability. This commitment is demonstrated by RACE’s support of trade qualifications of over 40 young Territorians to date. RACE Management and Staff have a strong community spirit and as such take part in and sponsor many local sporting events, clubs, and charities. RACE is committed to serving and supporting the Northern Territory community that sustains and supports them.
